The Alberta Land Trust Alliance (ALTA) is a not-for-profit charitable organization that strives to ensure Alberta’s future landscapes are rich in biodiversity and have strong ecological integrity. We work with Alberta’s land trusts and Alberta’s land trust community.
Land trusts are non-profit charitable organizations that have as one of their core objectives the acquisition of interests in land (e.g., conservation easements), or the acquisition of land, for the purpose of conservation. The ALTA strives to promote and support land trust organizations, and speak as a unified voice on behalf of Alberta’s land trusts.
The land trust community includes private landowners, conservation professionals such as appraisers, lawyers and accountants, government representatives from municipal, provincial and federal departments and the public.
The ALTA was incorporated in 2007 and is currently operated on a volunteer basis. Use the contact form to make inquiries to the ALTA, or use the member section to contact the individual land trust members directly.
