Definition of a Land Trust

Land trusts are non-profit charitable organizations that have as one of their core objectives the acquisition of lands or interests in land (e.g., conservation easements) for the purpose of conservation.

The formation of the ALTA was initiated by Alberta's land trusts and it strives to speak as a unified voice on their behalf. There are currently 11 private land trusts and one public land trust in Alberta.

ALTA Vision

ALTA Mission
